"My Monster Burrufu" Reviews
Libby Blog

My thoughts: I LOVED THIS! It was such a sweet read about learning to see past what people look like and to take time to get to know them before deciding whether you like them or not because you might just make your new best friend for life. I read this cover to cover with my 7 year-old, who not only was delighted with reading a story about another 7 year-old, but also thoroughly enjoyed everything about this book. She liked the illustrations, the story and the fact that she could help read along by reading Olivia’s parts enthusiastically!

A letter to the author from my 7 year-old:
Thank you Mr. Corral for sending us your book to review. I really liked it, but my sister cried a little. She’s only five. I really liked it from the beginning when I learned Olivia is 7 and I’m 7 too! I was nervous about the monster and the girl meeting him. But I laughed when Olivia was hanging upside down from the monster. I also laughed a lot when Burrufu got nervous in the treehouse and the treehouse top was his hat! I felt a little sad when Burrufu came down and people were scared. When the army came I thought they were going to kill him but Olivia, Steve and Mark ended up saving him! I felt so happy at the end because I think Burrufu moved back in. I LOVED all the drawings and wondered why they are all in black and white?
Thank you,
Mallory
