I thought the book was absolutely amazing! The illustrations are adorable and the images of Burrufu translate well because you tell that he is a friendly monster. I also enjoyed the story because it is a great starting point to talk with Miss Seven about accepting others who are different and liking them for their personality and not judging them by their appearance!

Miss Seven also enjoyed the book! Because she is a bit younger than the recommended age for a reader (it is suggested for ages 8-12), there were a few words she couldn’t read on her own or didn’t understand but, for the most part, she was able to read the book by herself. She said she thought Burrufu was cute and she thought the ending would be sad but was glad there was a happy part as well!

I’d highly recommend this book! I think it has excellent moral to it and it can be used as a bridge to discussing these issues with younger readers. I also think the story is fun and has action and adventure in it. I think it would appeal to both boys and girls as well.
